I've been going there for 7 years and have always been treated with great care and respect. I've always had great experience getting an appointment and the staff very polite and knowledgeable. Highly recommended.

The Need for Cataract Surgery

There are over three million cases of cataracts in the United States annually. This common and irritating condition causes the lens of the eye to become cloudy, causing blurred vision. As we age, we become more susceptible to cataracts. They can impair our ability to perform everyday activities such as reading, watching television, or driving. When cataracts make it difficult to see in order to go about your day-to-day life, surgery to remove those cataracts may be necessary.

What Is No Stitch Cataract Surgery?

Due to innovations in eye care, cataract surgery is not nearly as invasive or painful as it used to be. In fact, no-stitch cataract surgery is a quick and easy procedure that can be performed while the patient is awake. Anesthesia is delivered via an eye drop rather than an injection, making the entire operation much more comfortable for the patient.

During cataract surgery, your ophthalmologist will remove the clouded lens and replace it with a clearer artificial lens. After the procedure is complete, your vision will be improved the next morning, and you’ll see the full results of the surgery in just two weeks. These results may vary, but you can expect to see a significant reduction in your need for glasses. Some patients will not need glasses at all after undergoing no stitch cataract surgery.
